Braya Weaks is from Las Vegas, Nevada. She currently lives in New York City where she is a student at NYU Gallatin. She is a writer, photographer, logophile, and poet. She writes middle school and young adult books along with short stories and poetry. Her writing style has been described as having a "dark fairytale" theme. Her concentration in Gallatin is how sexism and disability are portrayed differently throughout history in children's books, and how that portrayal is affected by the year they are published in and how they are marketed.
